2022 Australia $2 2oz Silver Reverse Gilded Kangaroo FDI – PCGS PR70DCAM
This 2022 Australia $2 2oz Silver Reverse Gilded Kangaroo coin is graded a perfect PR70DCAM by PCGS and is a First Day of Issue. The coin will come with a themed box and a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Struck from 2oz of pure silver, this stunningly original Kangaroo coin is the first Perth Mint release to feature ‘reverse gilding’. This coin has a limited mintage of only 3,000 worldwide.
First issued in 1989, the Australian Kangaroo is an iconic annual coin series portraying Australia’s most recognized animal symbol. Thanks to the Reverse gilding process, the fields on both sides of the coin have been selectively plated in gleaming 24-karat gold.
The obverse features the Jody Clark designed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination.
The reverse features a mother kangaroo and its joey bounding across a grassy plain with hillocks in the distance. Also included is the inscription “KANGAROO”, the Perth Mint’s “P” mintmark, the coin’s weight, purity, and the year date of 2022.
